The Accountant with the California Alliance and Catalyst Center is responsible for leading and performing accounting duties, as well as assisting the Vice President of Finance and Operations in all areas of accounting, to ensure that financial policies and procedures are developed and followed. The Accountant will be a key player in ensuring the effective functioning of all accounting activities for the California Alliance, Catalyst Center, and accounting duties as assigned for Full Circle Health Network. The ideal candidate is someone who can multi-task be a cross-functional collaborator when needed, and be committed to meeting deadlines, ensuring efficiency, and working well in a diverse team environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED)
· Assist in developing and following internal financial controls
· A/P and A/R collaboration with Accounting Assistant
· Assist V.P. of Finance and Operations with semi-monthly payroll
· Contracts and grants invoicing, monitoring expenses, and reporting as needed
· Assist with annual budgeting, monitoring, monthly forecasts, cash flow projections, and reporting
· Perform monthly bank reconciliations, and month-end closing journal entries
· Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and finance reports
· Co-lead annual audit
· Maintain general ledger across entities, and inter-organization receivables and payables recording
· Work closely with the V.P. of Finance and Operations to provide financial insights and recommendations to help drive business decisions
· Stay up to date on accounting and tax regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
· Continuously improve accounting processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy
· Potential supervision of accounting staff
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Must have reliable means of transportation.
· Must have secure internet accessibility and connection.
· Understanding of cost accounting
SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS
· Extensive knowledge of financial reporting and compliance
· Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop and/or QuickBooks Online and/or other Accounting software
· Highly self-motivated and able to work independently.
