Dress for Success on Womens Equality Day

Women’s Equality Day is a time to celebrate the progress women have made in achieving equal rights and opportunities. As we honor this day it’s important to highlight organizations that empower women to succeed professionally. One such organization is Dress for Success Pittsburgh, a vital resource dedicated to helping women in the workforce by providing them with professional attire, support, and career development tools. This article will discuss the impact of Dress for Success Pittsburgh and how it plays an important role in fostering women’s economic independence.

Whether you’re in need of clothing, shoes, and essential items, career resources and advice, or simply a confidence refresh, our organization will be there for you each step of the way.

Dress for Success Pittsburgh is proud to have served more than 40,000 women in Allegheny, Butler, Fayette, Greene, and Washington counties since opening its doors in 2005. All self-identified women and gender-expansive folks are welcome to make an appointment at one of our boutiques, located in Lawrenceville or Washington, or stop by one of our walk-in mobile services events. You can find any of our three mobile boutiques at community centers, universities, hospitals, and other nonprofit partners across the 5 counties we serve.

What they do:

No matter what success means to you – a job interview, a new position, starting an internship/training program, or going through an important life change– we can help you dress for it and feel your best. Each woman who comes to us for services meets with a member of the team or volunteer and has the option to receive personalized styling and career advice as they choose their new wardrobe pieces, accessories, personal care, and seasonal items like winter hats, gloves, and coats. In addition to offering business and business casual clothing for interviews and more traditional office settings, our organization also provides uniform items for women entering new roles or training programs in a variety of industries, including healthcare, construction, hospitality, and essential services. We know that women can do anything, and we want to make sure they have the necessary items to do so safely and successfully
